Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) yesterday, declared that it is still on course on investigation of the ancient Mapo Hall, refurbished by thegovernment of Oyo State Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
ICPC Resident Consultant, Media and Event, Mr Folu Olamiti, who dropped the hint in Ibadan, denied that investigations relating to corrupt tendencies revolving round public officials and aides of Alao-Akala have been swept under the carpet.
Olamiti said ICPC wanted to carry out a thorough investigation on the culpability of the officials, to enable it present a water tight prosecution in the court.
The ICPC chief, who spoke with newsmen in Ibadan shortly after inauguration of the state schools chapter of National Anti-Corruption Volunteer Corps (NAVC), stated that the Commission would not encourage a situation where prosecution of any corrupt public official would be stalled for lack of diligent prosecution.
"As far as I am concerned, investigations into the various cases either of Mapo Hall contract or the BCOS cyber café are all on-going, and nothing has been swept under the carpet or buried.
In ICPC, we like to do a thorough job, ascertain the extent of involvement of each official before heading to the court, so that we can have water tight prosecution."
He denied that investigation on some of Alao-Akala's aides have been suspended, describing such claims as "wishful thinking."
Several aides of the state government, including Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Hosea Agboola, his Finance Commissioner, Mr Adebayo Bankole, Special Adviser of Public Com-munications, Prince Dotun Oyelade, were among public officials who have pending cases with the ICPC.

Earlier in his speech, ICPC Chairman, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, said the anti-corruption crusade requires a synergy between all stakeholders and anti-corruption agencies, remarking that the agency cannot achieve any meaningful success without the active participation of school children.
