Nakande in company of the Minister of Planning, Senator Sanusi Daggash and the Minister of State for Agriculture and Water Resources, Ademola Seriki, disclosed that Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and civil society groups are also encouraged to set up similar working committees so as to assist the government see through the objectives of APRM. He said President Yar'Adua is billed to travel to Egypt in July to attend a meeting of Heads of State during which performance reports collated from participating countries will be tabled for deliberations.
The APRM is the flagship programme of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) initiated by African heads of state to promote good governance.
It monitors the indices of quality governance by various African governments.According to the minister, that meeting will address "the critical mass of the entire review will be done on country to country basis".
