Angola: MPs Set Up Commission On State Budget Transparency

Luanda — A team made up by four Angolan opposition MPs on Wednesday announced the intention of setting up a group to supervise the execution of the state budget.

The MPs are Alexandre Sebastiao with Pajoca party, Benjamim da Silva (FNLA), Lindo Bernardo Tito (PRS) and Alicides Sacala (UNITA).

According to Alexandre Sebastião, the civic organisation Open Society, in partnership with the NGO Angola's Social Political Observatory and the Friedrich Ebertt Foundation are working to set up this group.

The MP was giving details about this initiative at the end of the international conference on Systems for Monitoring the Execution of the State Budget.
