A memorial service in honour of the late Joseph Ithana will be held at his family homestead at Omuthiya Gwii-Iipundi on Saturday, relatives have announced.

Ithana died on May 5 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 70.

He was buried last week Saturday at the Pionierspark cemetery in the capital.

Ithana is credited with having championed the restructuring of the Public Service during his stints as head of the Government employment advisory body.

At the funeral President Hifikepunye Pohamba described the late Ithana as a patriot and a man of principles.
