According to Luanda's public health department director, Vita Vemba, the government decided to organise the campaign due to appearance of three new cases of this disease, totalling six since the beginning of the year, in the capital city.
The Polio virus circulating in Luanda is type 3 and is from Asia and might have been transported by adults that travelled to that region.
