The Kamuli District HIV/Aids forum has called for the establishment of a research coordination unit as part of a process through which structures in the fight against HIV/Aids can be strengthened.

"A resource centre to manage HIV/Aids information systems and building of local capacity oriented to district needs should be funded," Kamuli District HIV/Aids focal person Joseph Ngobi said.

According to other members of the forum, there is also need for more partnerships and increased political commitment to the fight against HIV/Aids.

These were part of the recommendations of a district partnership forum workshop held in Kamuli District on May 5.
