Two NPP ministers are locked in battle over Okai Koi South. The incumbent Member of Parliament Nana Akomea, Minister of Manpower, Youth and Employment is facing fierce competition from Ms Victoria Bright, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs.
The Okai Koi South constituency has for three consecutive elections been a safe seat for the NPP with Nana Akomea.
Unlike previous elections where he was presented unopposed, this time round, Madam Vicky Bright is presenting herself as a new face who will appeal more to the electorate capable of obtaining a convincing landslide victory for the party.
Ms Bright told ADM that "I want to bring real positive change into the lives of the people in the constituency. I have been to their homes and they are crying for help, which I believe I am in a position to help."
With a strong belief in capacity building, she said it's part of her vision to enhance the human capacity of her constituents by investing in education and other areas that would help in achieving the vision.
Madam Vicky Bright, a former legal consultant to President J. A. Kufuor said when elected to represent the constituency, she will ensure that more people are registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). She said, she would raise funds to help the people cover the cost of some illnesses that are not under the NHIS.
"In tackling the health issue of my people, I will also fight sanitation seriously to ensure that my people live in a healthy environment so that they remain strong to contribute to the development of the constituency,' she said.

She said she believed this year's elections would be a one-touch victory for the NPP no matter how difficult it would be in December. She said she has a lot of development projects that she intends to executive for the benefit of the people and promised party members whose back she will ride on to parliament that they would not be forgotten.
