MTC Namibia Premiership log leaders Oshikandela Ramblers will have a chance to edge closer to their second post-independence Premiership title when they welcome Tigers at the Ramblers field in Windhoek on Sunday (15h00).

The two teams met three times already this season, once in the league and twice in knockout competitions with the Tunchel Street Boys coming out tops, but the most important fixture of them all is doubtlessly Sunday's do or die clash.

Victory for Rammies will open a five-point gap between them and their closest rivals, whilst the club's diehards will be waiting anxiously for the outcome of another top of the table clash between title-chasing Cymot Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) and Orlando Pirates.

Either team needs to win to keep their title hopes alive and even a stalemate would in all likelihood put both teams' title aspirations on hold, at least for the time being.

The peak of the weekend's matches is without doubt the titanic clash between joint 2nd placed SKW and Orlando Pirates at the SKW Stadium on Sunday (15h00).

Both teams are on 28 points after 17 matches - a mere two points behind leaders Ramblers and the same number of points with Civics, but the Buccaneers' superior goal difference place them ahead of their rivals.

Civics have a date with hoodoo side African Stars at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday (17h00).

The Reds are seven points off the pace for the coveted league title and are certainly out of contention for the elusive league title race but Gilbert Rwasoka's team will have a bigger say with regard to the destination of Namibia's most sought after silverware.

Elsewhere, Oshakati City entertains Bizhub Eleven Arrows at the town's Independence Stadium, tomorrow (14h00).

The battle for survival continues at the foot of the table with APS Blue Waters coming up against Dawid Snewe's Mighty Gunners at the Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay on Sunday (14h00).

In other league action, Black Africa welcomes basement residents Namdeb Fedics United at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek, tomorrow evening (19h00).

Smithley Engelbrecht's charges are currently occupying 6th position on the log standings with 25 points, but the Katutura giants boast two matches in hand over their nearest rivals and could still wrestle the title away from other contestants - provided they win all their remaining league matches, including the ill-fated outstanding fixture against African Stars.
