A Group, Youth Empowerment Initiative has shed more light on why they are embarking on youth empowerment initiative in the country.

Project consultant to the Youth Empowerment and Restoration Initiative, Dr Lola Amao said she hopes Nigeria will leverage off its resources to develop skilled human resources overtime and ensure that Nigeria and Nigerians become the much sought after provider of skilled human resources globally.

Amao said this while addressing a press conference in Lagos on the deterioration of educational system and poor value system that has resulted in the production of frustrated youths and graduates who can not compete globally. The national socio-industrial and economic well being and advancement has been worse for this decay, she said.

According to her,the catch-them-young project is designed to propel the brightest and best Nigerian youths into a fulfilling and rewarding career in technical and non-technical jobs in "high-tech" industries whilst focusing on excellence, innovation and creativity as a key driver .

Furthermore she said that the career counselling, industry awareness and youth empowerment programme seeks to identify any Nigeria child irrespective of origin, parentage, background, economic or financial stature who is keen to excel in education and be developed into a critical mass of right thinking, visionary, strategic thinkers and planners who will make the country a top country by the year 2020.
