Lagos — A member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State, Cliff Ogbede, has commended the new PDP leadership over its quest to reorganise the party and enthrone internal democracy.
Ogbede, who recently returned to the party after a spell in the Labour Party, told reporters in Lagos yesterday, that he was particularly impressed with Prince Vincent Ogbulafor-led National Working Commi-ttee's commitment to reconciliation within the party and moves to bring back aggrieved founding fathers, some of who left the party as a result of the third term imbroglio and in the wake of party primaries in 2006.
The former Imo State deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party, appraised the return of Second Republic governor of Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo and the party's flag-bearer in last year's governorship election in Imo State, Ifeanyi Araraume, as good for the party, especially in the South-east.
"I am very impressed by the moves that Ogbulafor is making to reconcile estranged party members with the mainstream and return defectors to the PDP family. I have always known him to be an astute politician and a humane person.
