South East Action Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), led by Senator Jim Nwobodo, ended its three-day reconciliation meeting in Owerri, Imo State yesterday, alleging past national leadership of the party for fueling crises in the state.
The commitee said "the image of the party in Imo was damaged, because of the undue interventions in its affairs by the previous national leadership of the party."
The group said due to the undue interference, members were demoralised and divided, adding that the so-called Kashim-Imam formula must be condemned, because it balkanised the state PDP, created enclaves and turfs that bred suspicion, tussle for power supremacy , divisive and bitter politics.
In a six-page communiqué signed by Nwobodo, at the end of its sitting, the committee noted that after careful deliberations, Imo State was a PDP state with all State Assembly members but one, and all National Assembly members in the state produced by the party.

It observed that there was only one uncontested state executive of the party under the leadership of Prince Marcillinus Nlemigbo, as well as an overwhelming support for a new and urgent congress in the state, while an overwhelming majority of the members across all zones, accept the zoning formula based on the tripod zones of Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu, as the pillar of the unity of the state.
