Tunis,

The United Nations economic and social council has awarded the general direction of student affairs, which is part of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology , the 2008 UN Prize for the transparency, sound management and the swiftness of its response time within public administration.

The Prize distinguishes this administration for its remote student orientation system towards the various tertiary institutions.

It also notes the efforts undertaken in terms of bringing administrative services closer to citizens, and the adoption of modern technology in this sector.

The Prize will be officially awarded by the UN Secretariat General to a representative of the Ministry, during an official ceremony due to take place in June 2008.
