Police of Tankoro and Motema divisions in Kono district have arrested 90 motor bikes believed to be unlicensed, uninsured or unregistered.

Some of the bike riders abandoned their bikes and ran away as some are still at large.

The arrest came during police operation 'white plate' targeting defaulting motor bikes in the town.

Meanwhile, 15 of the arrested riders were Tuesday charged to court for various offenses and the unclaimed bikes still at the police station.

Operations officer Superintendent Gassama said his division instituted the operation as a result of rampant defaulting bikes plying the township.
