Freetown — The South-South Health Care Delivery programme last week provided the ministry of health and sanitation with 10 medical practitioners that would be working in various fields of Sierra Leone's medical sector.
The specialists include a radiologist, obstetricians, dentists, gynaecologist, opthalmic nurses, midwives, anaesthesians, optometrists and public health.
Director of medical services and inspectorate and head of the team Dr. A. Usman, during a courtesy call on the health and sanitation minister Dr. Soccoh Kabia at his Youyi Building office in Freetown, on behalf of the team, pledged their commitment to help improve the country's health care delivery system.
Dr. Kabia said the country was in dire need of help to meet its numerous healthcare challenges.
He added that the team's presence and assistance would go a long way to complement government's effort in improving the health sector.
He said he had no doubt in the professionalism of the team in terms of effective and efficient service delivery, and assured his guests of his ministry's support and cooperation at all times.
