Luena — Moxico Province's Family and Women Promotion Department director, Quinta Pinto Camiji, appealed Thursday in Luena for the collaboration of women in awareness campaigns of citizens with illegal possession of guns to hand them over to the National Police.
The official made this statement while speaking at the ceremony in celebration of the International Day of Families, marked on May 15, underlining that the handing over fire-arms illegally owned will secure the organisation of the legislative elections in September.
She also called on women to remember to exercise their right to vote, on 5-6 September, which is also as a civic duty.
According to the director, it is only with the organisation and discipline of women that they can contribute for the development of the country, since they represent the highest number of the population in the country.
