The National Independent Trade Union of Health and Civil Service Workers (SNITSFP) will organise its second congress in January 2009, aimed at analysing its statutes and renew the mandate.

According to the union's general assembly chairperson, Martins da Cruz, the congress happening under the theme "SNITSFP in the 21st century, for seriousness and originality", will analyse the document on the situation of workers in face of the economic reforms underway.

It is also part of the meeting, which will happen from 15 to 16 January, the discussion of the union's new political line and strategy, the action programme for the next mandate in view of the new challenges, as well as the guidelines for the coming years.

SNITSFP was created in 1996.
