The CPDM parliamentary candidate for Kumba Central defeated at the July 2007 twin elections, Charles Enow Eseme, is facing murder threats.

Meme Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, Magloire Abath Zangbwala, revealed this on May 7.

The SDO summoned all clergymen, administrators and denizens of Kumba, to warn them against the looming danger.

He disclosed that there are some unknown people in Kumba wanting the head of the politician after two foiled attempts to kill him in his Mbonge Road residence.Zangbwala lamented that irrespective of the blood of late lawyer Martin Eseme, crying in the wilderness and begging for vengeance, people continue to plot evil.

The SDO questioned whether the devil's tail was planted in the town to deserve such evil. He said Kumba people are proud to announce that they are killers and murderers. The administrator explained that he convened the meeting to prevent what happened to late Barrister Eseme some years ago.

"The public actually knows who killed lawyer Eseme. As a newcomer to Kumba, I equally know who did it. Let the person continue but I know God being our master shall judge us all," he stated.

Testifying in the hall, Pastor Emmanuel Eseme, a close neighbour to Enow explained that he heard a group of boys d calling the name of the politician at about 2 am, while he (the pastor) was up praying.

He said after the first attempt, the second was severe. According to him, he saw three boys but could not identify them since it was night. The pastor said he tried calling the anti-gang of the area but the lines were not going through. Unfortunately, the pastor said, early in the morning he rushed to Enow's house but discovered the people were not thieves but killers. He said the people promised to come for the politician's life.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Enow said the killers have never met him in the house though he said they went to his secretariat in the house, searching for documents.

Enow said he complained to the SDO who decided to convene the meeting.

Concerning his relationship with late Eseme, the politician said they were very good friends.
