Angola: Health Director Advocates Engagement to Eradicate Poliomyelitis

Ondjiva — The provincial director for health in Angola's southern Cunene province, Eduardo Haiumba David, advocated on Friday, in Namacunde district, the need for all citizens to be engaged in poliomyelitis eradication in Angola.

According to the official, who was speaking during the opening of the vaccination campaign against poliomyelitis taking place in the country from May 16-18, "all citizens should contribute to the implementation of strategies, aimed at eradicating Poliomyelitis".

To Eduardo David, the campaigns constitutes the main measure to prevent the disease, hence the need for all children between the age of zero and five to be vaccinated to avoid the disease.
