Nigeria: Country, Niger Republic Seek Peaceful Relations

Nigeria and Niger Republic have agreed to maintain peaceful relationship in their border areas.
Minister of State for Interior , Alhaji Alhassan Haruna and his Niger counterpart, Alhaji Abdallah Albadi while inspecting border demarcation between the two countries at Dole kaina in Dandi Local Lovernment of Kebbi state, said both Nigeria and Niger would endeavor to provide facilities at the border areas.
According to them, the two countries have been living peacefully for decades without serious conflict which they would want to continue.
The two Ministers appealed to communities in the border areas to continue to avoid breaching the laws of the two countries and avoid trespass.
The Minister of Interior for Niger Republic , Alhaji Albadi specifically called on other African Countries to emulate Nigeria-Niger relationship so as to avoid unnecessary clashes and conflicts in the region.
Said Albadi "Our relationship with Nigeria has been very cordial for decades, we will like other African countries to emulate us"
He, however, appealed to the Nigerian government to try to electrify some communities along its border.
His Nigerian counterpart, Alhaji Haruna also appealed to both countries to endeavor to allow their children to attend their schools.
Said Haruna "There is nothing bad if Nigerians are attending schools in Niger republic and those in Niger republic are attending our schools to further cement our relationship"

The Minister promised that Nigerian government will try to provide electricity to communities in Niger Republic as requested by their Minister.
