News Agency of Nigeria

A rainstorm yesterday destroyed about 35 houses while more than 200 livestock were lost in Bunza local government area of Kebbi State.

Chairman of the council, Alhaji Usman Na-Allah, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Bunza that although no life was lost, some residents were injured.

He said the council had set aside N2 million to assist the victims.

" We are yet to quantify the value of property lost in the storm but it was horrifying to victims.

" The heavy rain over-stretched the minor stream passing through the town and we lost about 200 livestock in the incident," he added.

He advised people living close to the stream to relocate as the rains were expected to be heavy this year.
