Monrovia City Mayor Ophelia Hoff- Saytomah has challenged employees of the Monrovia City Corporation(MCC) to demonstrate a high degree of commitment in the performance of their duties.

Mayor Saytomah said MCC is a service providing institution and as such it needs a workforce of personnel with impeccable characters to serve as agent of change.

The City Mayor made the remarks last Wednesday, when MCC hosted a honoring and retirement program of 42 personnel.

Meanwhile, cash benefits ranging from L$500.00 to L$15,000.00 was awarded to personnel for dedicated services and others who were retired for long services respectively.

The honoring program was grace by the presence of the Monrovia City Council members.

Presenting certificates to the honorees, the City Council Chairman, Mr. Daniel G. Johnson indicated that other capital cities in the sub-region are developing rapidly, "and so I do not see any reason why our capital city can not foster the path to development".

Chairman Johnson called on residents in the city to rise to the occasion by giving MCC all of the support it needs to keep the city clean.
