Angola: Benfica of Portugal Already in Luanda

Luanda — The main soccer team of Portuguese giants SL Benfica arrived in the Angolan capital (Luanda) on Monday evening for a sports, social and cultural visit, on the sidelines of their end of season tour.

Led by the club's chairman, Luís Filipe Vieira, apart from players, the delegation comprises directors and staff of this Lisbon side, amongst which Eusébio, who will take part in various activities.

At "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, the team was received by the chairman of Benfica of Luanda, Generoso de Almeida, and other Angolan sports directors.

ANGOP learnt from the official visits programme that this tour shall include, among other activities, for the launching of the "Angola partner kit" and the exhibition of "Sport Lisboa e Benfica e Sport Luanda e Benfica - 104 and 86 years of History".

It also includes a match between Benfica and the Angolan soccer team, on Wednesday at 03:30pm, at Cidadela stadium, the signing of a protocol with Benfica of Luanda, apart from solidarity initiatives.

Benfica of Lisbon was in Cape Verde in fulfilment of the first phase of the end of season tour.
