The Angolan National Assembly (Parliament) will gather this Tuesday in a plenary session, to debate among other topics the proposal to change some points in the Electoral Law and the Electoral Registration Law.

The two projects were presented last month by the ruling MPLA party's parliamentary bench, on the grounds that there is a need to readjust some of the deadlines in those diplomas, for them to be in line with the country's reality.

The ruling party's MPs suggest alterations in the articles that deal with the deadlines on the public exhibition of the electoral registration record books, complaints, errors and irregularities, the appeal of decisions, the publication of the election results and the counting of votes.

The MPLA thinks that the deadlines should be extended.

In this Tuesday's session the parliamentarians will also analyse the appointment of members to the Higher Council of the Judicial Magistracy and the Higher Council of the Prosecuting Counsel.

The gathering is to end with the assessment and debate about the diploma on the Remuneration Status of the Member of the Parliament.
