The former governor of Rivers State, Dr Peter Odili yesterday described as historic the agreement signed between the Nigeria Football Association and DAAR Communication owners of AIT and Ray Power Radio.

He also commended the present NFA for being able to achieve what former boards failed to actualize.

The former governor who was guest of honour at the event made this comments yesterday at the National Stadium Abuja during the formal signing ceremony of the N250 million broadcasting rights acquisition by the DAAR Communication group.

Other guests at the events include Celestine Omehia, another former Rivers State governor, Former Minister of Transport, Abiye Sekibo, Chairman, Nigeria Football Association, Sani Lulu Abdullahi, Bolaji Ojo Oba,Taiwo Ogunjobi, Chaiirman DAAR Communication, Chief Raymond Dokpesi and others.Ojo oba said the current board inherited a television contract that should have been dispensed with year before, but because the board did not want to be dragged into long litigation, it decided to exercise patient and waited for the right time.

He said ' this is surely the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship that will bring the Nigeria national team back to the home of passionate Nigerian fans.'
