Asmara — Eritrean nationals residing in Belgium and Switzerland reaffirmed their readiness to back up the ongoing development drive in the Homeland and safeguard the nation's sovereignty.
In a public meeting they held on May 18 in Brussels City, Eritrean citizens who live in Belgium decided to donate 200 Euro each and students 50 Euro each within three months in support of the national cause. On top of this, the participants of the meeting voluntarily made financial donations, according to reports.
The Eritrean Ambassador to the European Union (EU), Mr. Girma Asmerom, gave briefings to the participants on the objective situation in the Homeland and the region.
Likewise, Eritrean citizens residing in the Swiss cities of Luzon, Geneva, Berne, Basle, Zurich and Nushatel held similar public meetings on the 10th and 18th of May, during which they reiterated their commitment to rebuff anti-Eritrea hostilities and step up the national development drive. They also pledged to contribute 250-500 Swiss francs each in expression of their support to development programs in the Homeland.
