one wonders why no reason was given for the unceremonial removal of mr. iredia from nta. i think this man has done alot to improve the image of the largest television network in africa.i just hope that he did not fall out with the present administration as one of obasanjo's men still in government.

Yes, I too wonder why. It is very strange and inappropriate that there was no special programme on NTA which gives viewers the opportunity to hear Dr Iredia speak about the reasons for his departure. A man of such calibre and integrity departing the Nigerian Television is not something that should pass so unnoticed. It is almost as if he was punished for his hard work. So much for 'transparancy'. Is there no Yoruba, Delta, Edo or even another NTA staff to succeed Dr Iredia's position? Why must it be an outsider and a hausa man for that matter. I have nothing against the Hausas but please, this whole thing begs some clarification and explanation, at least, if the new DG has respect for NTA viewers & for the Nigerian public at large and if the president of the FRN wants our confidence in his 'rule of law' & 'transparency' affairs.
