Jennie K. Fallah

A father of triplets is calling on the President of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, national and international NGO's and other well meaning Liberians to come to the aid of the children and their mother, before they die of hunger or poor health.

Mr.Waka George who walked into our office sadly said his fiancée, Ms Mame Koyo who underwent a caesarean operation two weeks ago at the Benson Hospital in Paynesville is still experiencing severe pains and since then there is not enough food and medication for her to recover. "As for the kids, they have neither medication nor clothes to wear," Mr. George stated.

He lamented that besides the triplets, they have four children whose upkeep has become a dilemma.

Commenting on his means of survival, Mr. George, in a rather sad tone said he previously served as a watchman but that doctors advised him to quit the job to avoid securing good health, while his wife who previously sold cold water to generate funds for the family also abandoned the business due to her pregnancy.

According to Mr. George things are going from bad to worse for his family in that they have been given notice by the Liberian government to vacate the E.J. Roye Building by the end of this month. He added that they have been dwelling in the building for several years.

Mr. George expressed fear for the fact that he has not identified a new place for him and his family. "Where are we going to stay and where am I going to get money from to afford the cost of a place, when I don't even have the first cent to support my family or even cook dry rice?" he wondered.

Meanwhile, Mr. George is also calling on the Christian and Muslim Communities, Philanthropists, and the public to assist him in whatever way they can to give hope to his children.
