PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe will address delegates at the launch of the run-off presidential election campaign at the party headquarters in Harare today.

Justice minister, Patrick Chinamasa said he was upbeat about the campaign and confident that President Mugabe will win the run-off election.

He said at the last election the party was divided and went to the elections wounded, but had patched up differences and was ready to campaign for President Mugabe.

"I can assure you that everything is now in place for the launch. The launch will be attended by members of the Presidium, Politburo, Central Committee, top three members from the wings of our provincial councils, MPs and even those who lost in the parliamentary elections. We have also invited some ambassadors and the business people. In total we are expecting 2 000 people," said Chinamasa in an interview with the weekly Sunday Mail paper.

Chinamasa said the campaign strategy will be 'door-to-door' so that they explain party strategy to the people.

He also said that he was not worried about opposition Movement for Democratic Change leader's return to the country.

"Tsvangirai's... return means nothing to us. He is an inconsistent person. Remember he split his party over the participation in the Senate elections and later he participated in the elections. He said he was not going to participate in the March 29 elections and he later participated. He said he did not accept the results of the March 29 polls and said he had won, but he later turned around and agreed that he lost.

"He said he would not participate in the run-off and now he is back to participate. This is the kind of a person the MDC is offering to the humble people of Zimbabwe. It's clear that he is driven by outsiders and every time he has to get orders on what to do from his masters.

"He said he was not coming back to Zim-babwe for fear of his life but when he was ordered by the US Ambassador to Zimbabwe James McGee to come back he came back rushing. Tsvangirai should be ashamed of himself."

President Mugabe is due to address the delegates at 14:00 hrs local time (13:00 GMT).
