Rwanda: Bokota Return Boosts Amavubi Attack

Amavubi Stars' striking force has been boosted by the return of Bokota Labama Kamana ahead of the 2010 World/Africa qualifier against Mauritania set for this Saturday.
The Rayon Sports forward, who has been out of action for his club as well as Amavubi team since February is the latest inclusion in the star-studded side lined up to face the 'Mourabitounes' of Mauritania at Amahoro stadium.
The Congolese-born forward had earlier been dropped from the Amavubi provisional squad on request from his club on disciplinary grounds.
According to the Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa, "Bokota had issues to settle with his club before being recalled to the national team."
"Both parties resolved their issues recently and the player joined the Amavubi camp on Monday," Kalisa said.
The talisman made his name on the scene by topping the goal scorer's chart in last year's national league by scoring 13 goals in nine outings.
His eye for goal rewarded him Rwandan nationality hence a place on the Amavubi Stars during the Michael Nees era and made his debut against Liberia during the 2008 African Nations' Cup qualifiers where Rwanda finished third with six points in group five.
Bokota joins the striking line that already has his club mate Lomami (Rayon), Elias Uzamukunda (APR), Abedi Mulenda (Atraco), Peter Kagabo (Atraco), James Uwimana (Kiyovu), Olivier Karekezi (Hamarkameratene, Norway), Saidi Abedi (Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Israel) and Bobo Bola (Laundskbois, Sweden).
Meanwhile, Amavubi Stars head coach Tucak Blanko has been boosted by the arrival of last batch of professionals that included Karekezi, Bobo Bola, Saidi Abedi and Fritz ahead of Saturday's game.
Rwanda faces Mauritania in her first qualifying campaign. Other countries in Rwanda's group eight include; Morocco and Ethiopia.
Rwanda will face Ethiopia away in Addis Ababa on June 7 before hosting the Atlas Lions a week later.
The Amavubi Stars will then fly to Rabat on June 21 for a return leg against the North African giants.
On September 7, the 2007 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup losing finalists head to Nouakchott for the second leg against Mauritania before winding up their campaign with a home game against Ethiopia on October 12.
