Muhammed Lamin B. Gibba, Managing Director of The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) has been selected as an honored member of the WHO's WHO International Historical Society for the year 2008.

Founded in America, the WHO's WHO International Society takes account of people who are highly committed in their work. Below is the citation on Mr Gibba's award: With a strong background in corporate strategy, Mr. Gibba gained valuable expertise in working in the arena of civil service, while obtaining his Master's Degree in Human Resources.

While in his current position for the past four years, he has excelled in leading the Company towards greater leadership in the area of providing outstanding services in their Human Resources Department. As a creative and forward-thinking professional, Mr Gibba's future goals include installing new networks in the company, to the end that the nation of The Gambia will move towards greater influence and leadership in Africa; creating a business-friendly environment that is hospitable to new and innovative industries.

Personal Information

Married to Sarjo Jammeh in 2000. Four children: Kudo, Yama, Banna and Binta. Mr Gibba enjoys reading and soccer.

In an interview with the Daily Observer, Mr Gibba expressed delight for winning this award. He added that such an international honor will give him the courage, inspiration and motivation to strive and excel in the execution of his mandate at the GPA.
