The Blue Sea-line Shipping Company in Kaolack, Senegal, yesterday presented a cheque for D50,000 to the Jammeh Foundation for Peace (JFP) Hospital in Bundung, Serrekunda, at a presentation ceremony held at the hospital ground.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Bakai Cham, the managing director of Blue Sea-line Shipping Company, said his company has a long standing relations with JFP, adding that they are impressed with JFP's contribution towards the socio-economic development of the country.

He expressed hope that their relationship grows from strength to strength.

For his part, Ansumana Jammeh, the executive director of JFP, said the foundation does not only focus on the health sector, but also on agriculture and education.

Mr Jammeh disclosed that most of the fund towards the hospital's development come from President Jammeh himself and emphasised that the hospital is endeavouring to be independent in the near future.

On the education programme of the hospital, Mr Jammeh said JFP has been sponsoring some students at GTTI for some technical courses, who at the end of their studies would start their own entreprise and later repay the money gradually, depending on the nature of the business.

For his part, the chief executive officer of JFP Hospital, Kebba Manneh, said a donation of this magnitude would be meaningful towards the development of the hospital.

Mr Manneh thanked the Blue Sea-line Shipping Company for its contribution to health, noting that this was not the first time they extending hand to JFP.
