Huye's stunning display in the third phase of the national Sitting volleyball championship could have halted Intwali's dreams of a double this season.
The Southern Province side has 36 points, six more than the reigning champions Intwali, who are second on the table.
And as the National Paralympics Committee (NPC-Rwanda) technical director Eliya Manirarora recently said, Intwali's chances of defending the title are next to impossible.
"For Intwali to retain the title, it would require them to win all their games in the fourth phase and hope that Huye lose all their matches," the NPC official stated.
With just one phase to wrap up this year's championship, Intwali now have to switch their focus to the Seat ball championship.
The Kigali-based club tops the table standing with 54 points, six ahead of Huye in second place. Unlike previous years, this year's Seat ball championship also attracted six female clubs namely; Gorillas, Kagoma, Huye, Intwali, Ubumwe and THT.
Gorillas and Kagoma are tied at the top of the table with 41 points but the former boasts of a superior goal difference. The fourth phase, which is also the final (phase) is scheduled for June 14-15 in Kigali.

At the end of the championships, the winning clubs will be presented with trophies and a cash prize of Frw 200,000 courtesy of Voluntary Overseas Service (VSO), the official sponsors.
