Uganda: Coca Cola Picks Six for Brazil School of Excellence

COCA-COLA yesterday unveiled the Ugandan COPA-Coca-Cola select team of six football players for a Brazil tour in July.

The six were picked by coach Mike Mutebi and Badru Kaddu from over 1500 players from the 62 schools that took part in the COPA Coca-Cola national schools cup in Arua recently. St. Mary's SS Kitende won the event .

The six include the tournament's top scorer Paddy Akugizibwe (Masaka SS) and the Most Valuable Player Godfrey Buni of Mehta SS.

Akugizibwe, 17, topped the scores chart with 13 goals, while Buni earned the mark for his pivotal role in guiding the Mukono champions to the final.

Others are Kizito Luwaga, 19, (St. Mary's Kitende), Abel Eturudde, 16, (Mvara SS), Robert Magomu, 18, (Nabumali High) and Ceaser Sapeo, 19, of Tororo Progressive Academy.

While in Brazil, the six will undergo a one-week training stint in the renowned school of excellence in Rio de Janeiro. The Ugandan party will be part of the global cream of selected players from COPA Coca-Cola sponsored tournaments.
