TRACplus and Kigali Health Institute conducted a two day workshop at Serena Hotel, Kigali, to discuss he proposed Rwanda Health Education and Information Network (RHEIN) project.

The project is to incorporate two components: education through electronic learning (E-learning) to be undertaken by KHI, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) which will be done by TRACplus.

The E-learning project is going to design an internet curriculum for nurses to undertake medical courses. The electronic medical records will be a data base for patient-treatment and related records, connecting the lower medical levels with the national database.

"This will create improved data quality for both patient-detailed data and aggregate data for the program, to enable better use of patient data by the health providers," said Dr Asiimwe, director of TRACplus.
