Kigali — Rwanda's Beijing Olympic Games residential camp will cost an estimated six million Rwandese francs (Frw6m), officials at the local Olympics Committee, RNOC have confirmed.
RNOC's Chef de Mission for the Beijing-bound Rwandan delegation told Times Sport that the money will cover the first month of residential training.
"The first month (May-June) of residential training will cost up to six millions Rwandan francs.
"We have requested six millions from the Sports ministry to facilitate the first month of training and issues concerning the second month will be discussed after," Thierry Ntwali said. He added, "Residential training for the second month will depend on the outcome of the first month."
Six athletes started intensive residential training with two months left before the summer Games in the Chinese city of Beijing.
The athletes include: Epiphanie Nyirabarame, Felix Ntirenganya, Jackson Niyomugabo, Girimbabazi Pamela, Jean de Dieu Nkundabera and Elmas Muvunyi.
Other athletes are expected to join the training camp is the trio of Dieudonne Disi, Slyvain Rukundo and Angelline Nyiransabimana.
Disi has been given an extended rest after his rigorous training in Europe in the last coupe of months while Rukundo and Nyiransabimana are currently training in Eldoret, Kenya.
