Uganda: Hapless Crane High Face Miracle

Kampala — Crane High have parted ways with their coach Justus Mugisha and go into tonight's game against Miracle, wary of a fifth loss that could dent their aspirations to play in the topflight MTN-Fuba League next season.

Mugisha earned Crane High promotion from Second Division last year but had only recorded one victory from five outings before he tendered in his resignation last week.

"I need a break from basketball. I feel I have done a commendable job with the team and wish them the best," Mugisha, who led Crane High to a one-point victory over Gulu Hawks, said.

The team is off a 59-85 whipping by Falcons and another loss tonight will be much of a demolorising factor that may ensure they don't recover from the relegation zone. Two teams of the ten are to be relegated and Crane High are currently second from bottom ahead of winless KCC Lions.

Miracle, who started the season impressively but have struggled of late, desperately need maximum points from tonight's game if they are to stand any chance of making a maiden appearance in the play-offs. Nabisunsa forfeited their last game against UCU last weekend and are equally doubtful for today's encounter with women table leaders A-1 Challenge.

Nabisunsa wrote to the Fuba organizing committee requesting for a postponement of their games due to a tight schedule involving beginning of term examinations but latter responded negatively.

The biggest game of the week is due Friday with Falcons facing Warriors.
