Saurimo — About 787 firearms were handed over voluntarily, by citizens illegally owning them, to the National Police in the north-east Lunda Sul province since the beginning of the disarming process last April.
According to the spokesperson of the provincial command of the Police in Lunda Sul, told ANGOP this Tuesday that the weapons were handed over in the districts of Saurimo with 440, Muconda with 136, Cacolo with 107 and Dala with 104.
Among the materials, he explained that highlight falls to 681 AKM, 59 rifles, 19 G3s and ten "Mauser" weapons.
During the period in reference, the National Police also received 266 loaders and 300 ammunitions, he said.
José Manuel is happy with the way the citizens have adhered to the disarming process, avoiding the coercive phase.
