Delta State police command has warned members of MASSOB in the state to desist from hoisting the Biafran flag or be prepared to face the wrath of the law.
Mr. Charles Muka, the Delta State police Public Relations Officer, said that MASSOB was an illegal association.
The public relations officer said that the acting commissioner of police, Mr. Jacob Oshomogho, had ordered the arrest and prosecution of anyone caught with the flag.
It was gathered that some flags suspected to be that of Biafra were seen hoisted at the summit junction, Coker area and Umuagu in the state capital, Asaba.
It was also learnt that no fewer than 15 persons had been arrested and were standing trial at various magistrate's courts in Asaba for being members of MASSOB.
It was gathered that some of the members wore vests and caps with MASSOB inscriptions on them whenever they went to court.
Some Nigerians who refused to disclose their identity said that security men should act fast before the situation leads to a crisis. They attributed the hoisting of the flags to ignorance on the part of some members of the association.

It is laughable to suggest that members of MASSOB are ignorant so I ask if they are what about MEND, OPC, and AREWA just to mention a few ethnic pressure groups in Nigeria asking for justices and fair game. The government but not MASSOB is ignorant because it has failed to address the needs of the people who felt locked out from the system.
Apartheid reigned for the longest in South Africa but it is now a free democratic Republic of South Africa because at the end reason prevailed and today South Arica is free. As long as the governments shuns a negotiated settlement to the crises in affected areas in the former Eastern Region unrest will continue to hold sway and no amount of guns and bombs will silence the aggrieved parties.
Look at Nigeria one would think that the Igbos are not part of that federation in all facets of economic development and political appointments. Igbos are no longer interested in been appointed as Minister of Education, Commerce, and all the low cabinet positions after all they are part of the Tripod despite that the Obasanjo census wants to make them a minority. You are not ignorant when you are asking to level the playing field and unless you are wearing the shoes of the MASSOB you would not understand what it is to be loved and be left alone.
