Windhoek — WE'VE all got to pay our way, or make a plan when we can't, so the impression must not be given with the recent exposé of top political leaders reneging on their debts, that this should somehow exonerate others less fortunate.

People fortunate enough to have jobs should try to live within their means, it goes without saying, and it is only the poorest of the poor, the literal have-nots and most vulnerable people, whom society should have to take care of, at least insofar as their access to basic amenities is concerned.
