Kampala — Cranes coach Laszlo Csaba is confident his side can snatch a result in today's African Nations Cup qualifier against Benin's Squirrels.
The Hungarian-born German tactician told Daily Monitor on phone from Cotonou that the teams are fairly even. "The ground is level and everything is there to be won. It will be a tough match but we shall put up our best to get a good result as the players are focused and ready to go an extra mile," said Csaba. The Cranes won their opening game against Niger on May 31 while their hosts fell 0-3 to Angola in Luanda.
The team got a timely boost upfront when teenage striker Caesar Okuthi joined the rest of the team on Friday night, but three of the players who started the Niger game are out. Captain Ibrahim Sekagya, midfield workhorse Noah 'Babadi' Kasule and defensive stalwart Nestory Kizito all failed to make the trip.
Csaba says he will stick to his trusted 4-4-2 formation.
"The last thing I am thinking about is going out to defend. We shall play a normal game though with caution. But a second striker will be necessary," he said.
Probable line up: Denis Onyango, S. Masaba, A. Tabula, Andy Mwesigwa, Timothy Batabaire, Jimmy Kidega, J. Kabagambe, Assan Bajope, Eugene Ssepuuya, Caesar Okuthi and David Obua.
