Rwanda: Inter-Schools Quarterfinal Dates Set

Rwanda's School Sports Federation (FRSS) has set 14 and 15 June as dates for this year's quarterfinals in football, basket ball, handball and netball for both boys and girls' categories.

Football, ASPEJ takes on ESIR at St Andre grounds in Nyamirambo, College Gisenyi visits GSCC in Musanze, ETO Save plays EAV Ntendezi in Huye and St Joseph against ADEGI in Muhanga for the boys' category.

In girls' category, St Joseph Kabgayi faces Esir at Ifak Kimihurura, TTC Save against St Joseph Nyamasheke will be played in Huye while IPM plays APAPEB at St Andre and ASPEJ versus APAPE will be in Rwamagana.

In basketball, ETENI boys plays St Joseph at Kimihurura, College Gisenyi against IDBK in Musanze, St Andre versus PS Karubanda will be in Muhanga while IFAK battles GS Indangaburezi at St Andre.

Still in basketball, END Providence takes on FAWE girls at Kimihurura, St Joseph against ESPAGYA in Muhanga, St Vincent against GS Kabare at St Andre whereas ESIC will take on LND Citeaux in Musanze.

In handball, LDK travel to Huye for their tie against ES Gafunzo, St Joseph Nyamashekye faces APPEC in Muhanga, ETO Kibungo hosts St Joseph Kabgayi in Rwamagana and GS de la salle versus College Gisenyi will be played at Kimihurura.

In the girls category, APPEC plays Ape Girubuntu at St Andre,ES Gafunzo with GS Indangaburezi will be in Huye, TTC Cacuba and APAPEKI in Musanze while St Alloys playing St Joseph in Rwamagana.

In netball, a sport that is appearing on the schools' calendar for the first time has attracted eight teams from across the country.

G.S Gihundwe plays against Christ Roi in Huye, ES St Vicent against Lycee Zaza at Kimihurura, G.S Gahini takes on St Alloys in Rwamagana while FAWE visits GS St Joseph in Muhanga.

According to FRSS president Innocent Gatete, teams that compete in the annual tournament are facilitated by their districts in collaboration with FRSS up to semifinal stage where the Education ministry takes over.
