Abakaliki — A woman, Mrs. Comfort Akachukwu, has given birth to a four set of babies but the doctors at the Federal medical Centre, FMC, said one of the babies died in the mother's womb.
The surviving three, one boy and two girls however received different types of gifts especially from the first lady of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Josephine Elechi, who donated undisclosed large sum of money.
The FMC in Abakaliki has been filled with joy as people have continued to troop into the medical complex to have a glimpse of the quadruplets which the Chief Medical Director of the centre, Dr. Paul Olisaemeka Ezeonu, said was the first of its kind since the establishment of the centre shortly after the World War 11.
Among those who so far have thronged the Abakaliki FMC include Member Representing Ebonyi\Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Elizabeth Ogbaga.
Speaking after giving the cash donation, wife of the state Governor, Mrs. Josephine Elechi, said her joy knew no bound when she got the cheering news, adding the donations from the people will not only take care of the babies but will give their parents a sense of belonging.
