Uganda representatives gave a whole hearted shot at the just concluded 11th Rwanda Genocide International Memorial Volleyball Championship in Kigali but Kenya and Rwanda once again stood tall to deny them any silverware.

The men's final was an all Rwandan affair with Army side APR dating Kigali Volleyball Club. The dominant APR side easily won 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, and 25-21).

Earlier Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) ladies had denied Uganda's highest attempt by Kampala City Council (KCC) women the top accolade when they beat then in straight sets and a one sided match 3-0 (25-8, 25-10, 25-16).

In the semi finals, KCC had stopped their local rivals KAVC 3-0 while KCB had seen off local side ESNK 3-0 too. In the men's category APR beat KCC 3-0 while KVC ended NUR (National University of Rwanda)'s interest in the 2-day tournament.

NUR settled for the third spot after easing over KCC in the playoffs 3-0. KAVC ladies also managed a third place.
