Namibia: High Court Postpones Ex-Guard's Child Rape And Murder Trial

Windhoek — THE trial of former security guard Lesley Kukame, who is accused of abducting, raping and murdering a three-year-old girl in Katutura in early 2005, had to be postponed to September 16 in the High Court in Windhoek yesterday.

Two days after the trial resumed before Judge Kato van Niekerk following an almost six-month break, and with only about 20 minutes of testimony heard since it resumed on Tuesday, the trial was postponed again at the request of Kukame's lawyer, Ivo dos Santos, for further evidence in the prosecution's possession to be disclosed to the defence.
