A weekend which has seen the balance of African football power coming under direct assault has added to the confidence of Equatorial Guinea fans as their team prepares to face Nigeria's Super Eagles on Sunday in Malabo.
All of Africa's top sides failed to win on Saturday, with the likes of Ghana, Egypt and Morocco left red-faced after embarrassing reverses on the road to middling opposition.
Cameroon and Ivory Coast were both held to draws by Tanzania and Botswana respectively, but they would have found their discomfort assuaged by results from elsewhere.
The Black Stars, Africa's top-ranked team in the FIFA rankings until last month were soundly beaten 2-0 by Gabon, African champions Egypt suffered a 1-0 defeat to Malawi while Morocco were handed a 3-1 trouncing by Rwanda on Saturday.
With 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa also losing 1-0 to Sierra Leone, Nzalang Nacional fans have seen their hopes of victory take a major boost.
"We believe we an win against Nigeria," one fan told KickOffNigeria.com after watching the Super Eagles training. "Football is no longer about big names.
"We beat Cameroon on this pitch when they came here and we will do the same to Nigeria. Look at the way all the big teams have not been able to win today. We will do the same thing to Nigeria."
That is the general feeling among the locals.
But Samuel Obiang, a journalist in Malabo, expressed a bit more caution.
"It is going to be a difficult game and it is difficult to say who will win. But I think that with the results we have seen today, anything is possible."

The game comes up at 15h30 Nigerian time.
