Lagos — Organisers of the "What is Your Africa Strategy?" Conference (WIYAS 2008), have highlighted the essence of the conference, saying "the growing interest in Africa's economy is paving way for a new dawn in the area of investment opportunities.
In a statement yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer of Georgetown Capital Partners, Mr Chichi Okonjo, said, "amid African entrepreneurs jostling for market share in Africa, we are of the view that we can help them to expand their business through this conference.
"This conference is aimed at provoking and challenging businesses into understanding that an African strategy is critical to the growth and ultimate survival of their businesses."
He said "Africa is unarguably the next frontier in rapid economic growth with over 30 sub-Saharan African economies growing at 5.4 per cent in the past few years alone. Thus, there is a critical need for businesses to grow beyond boundaries, to capture strategic opportunities across Africa."
However challenges exist. From strategic to cultural, to regulatory and logistic issues, major challenges exist, which we hope to address."
