Nairobi — Seven different nationalities will line up for Tanzania in the 13th Tusker Safari Sevens tournament that kicks off on Friday at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa grounds along Ngong Road, Nairobi.
The rainbow team has two US nationals, three Tanzanians, a German, Dutch, British, South African and a New Zealander. It is the same trend in the under-19 team that will play in the school's category, which has nine nationalities. Three Tanzanians, a Fijian, Britons, Dutch, Irish, Canadian, a South African and Americans have been included in the team.
At the same time, Mwamba Invaders, which has the bulk of the national women's team, players will field two teams. The technical bench and players will use this tournament to build up for the Rugby World Cup women's qualifiers to be hosted by Uganda next month.
