Nigeria: NPC Flags Off Health Survey in Nasarawa

Lafia — The National Population Commission has flagged off its field work for the 2008 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

The commission's chairman, Chief Sumaila Maikama said trained per-sonnel of the organisation would commence random interview of people on their sexuality and very personal questions which would be packaged at the end of the day for the consumption of planners and policy makers at the three tiers of government. Briefing newsmen on the exercise, Makama said the survey was a vital aspect of the commission's programmes aimed at providing vital statistics for the nation's health sector.
