Massawa — A Cuban professor said that the efforts Eritrea is exerting in environmental management in general and soil and water conservation in particular are exemplary. Prof. Edwardo Agito from the University of Havana made the remarks in a seminar he conducted to students and youths in Massawa city under the theme "Environmental Management and Lasting Development."
He explained that a number of countries, especially the industrialized ones are polluting the environment in different methods simply to secure their own interests and temporary benefits. The Professor further underlined that it is high time to introduce technology that does not lead to pollution of the environment.
Prof. Edwardo also gave a lecture on different topics, including energy source vis-à-vis utilization and environmental impact on soil and water conservation, biodiversity and environment, the negative effect of the Ozone layer, global climate change and the like.
He indicated that Eritrea's endeavors in constructing micro-dams in different parts of the country, coupled with the nationwide soil and water conservation activities are both exemplary and worth emulating. These activities have a major role to play in enriching underground water resources, the Cuban Professor added.
As regards food security, Prof. Edwardo pointed out that contrary to the positive initiatives taken by some countries like Cuba in replacing old industries and factories with new environment-friendly ones through disbursing substantial capital, the industrialized nations like the United States are refusing to sign the international agreement on avoiding pollution.

Eritrea ruler is now on a head-on collision with the UN. Under such circumstances, what options does the UN have? For now The Security Council expresses its determination to closely monitor the situation and to consider further appropriate steps for the safety and protection of the Mission and its personnel.
All days , he kills the journalists, the member of opposition
Afeworki is very dangerous because he protect the islamist maybe the author of the 911 is in Asmara
Wy the US doesn't attack him ?
Afeworki will down.Yes, he protects the islamists; yes he kills the journalists. The brain of attacks live in Asmara.Al Qaida continued to operate in Kenya and Tanzania after 1998. At the end of November 2002, the Paradise Hotel near Mobasa, a resort owned by an Israeli and popular with Israeli tourists, was car bombed. Sixteen people died, including three Israelis and the three car bombers. Almost simultaneously SA-7 missiles were launched shortly after an Israeli charter plane had taken off from Mombasa airport. They missed. SA-7 surface-to-air shoulder launched missiles are popular with Al-Qaida and Somali militias. The missiles were problably smuggled accross the Somali-Kenyan border. Behind the attacks was the Somali-based group "Al-Itihaad Al-Islamiya," chaired by Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys,Fazul Abdullah Mohammed and Ayro which is linked to Al-Qaida.
You mean in the other way around, he will gooo up, that right, up. Why would he kill journalists, why, why... hey he only speaks the truth... and now the truth is being so painful to peaple e.g. you. Eritrea is feel of love and good faiths in a feature. There is no difference Muslem or Christian. They are just true people. People like you would think they support Muslem people such as to Somalia.... That's not right, the speak whats goes wrong around them.... and Isais only said let them have a freedom. He was the only person in the horn africa brought up bout what's going wrong in Somalia to the world. And for that Somalia people thanks him. No one would ever care of them, if Ethiopia and US worked out the situation together. Islamist people are a people like you! they only belive in God in differnt way. Thinking of Eritrean people are doing terrorists what do would be YOUR BIG MISTAKE... to you and people like you.... but I don't think it really matters, just speak only the truth! ISSAIS AFEWORKI NEVER KILLS PEOPLE. But its sooo funny you said that, because there isn't a situation like that in Eritrea.... no guns, people to people high secure.... its just like impossible to belive... If you said ISSAIS did kill a rournalist, they will just lough at you, coz they don't even now what the hell you are talking about. By the way I just tried( and hopefully you understand) the strong relations between Islamists and Christian people in ERITREA...
