Harare — A verbal message from the chairperson of the SADC's Cooperation,Politics, Defence and Security Organ, Angolan Head of State José Eduardo dos Santos, was transmitted Thursday to Zimbabwe's President, Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
The message, which is to do with the current political climate in Zimbabwe, was transmitted by the head of the SADC Observation Mission to the elections in Zimbabwe, José Marcos Barrica, who on that day went to Bulawayo, about 450 kilometres away from the capital city Harare, to speak to the Zimbabwean leader.
The message is quite opportune considering that the second round of the presidential election, in this country, is getting near (27 June).
In the message, President José Eduardo dos Santos suggests to the outgoing Zimbabwean President to observe the spirit of tolerance, respect for the democratic rules, and at the same time he appeals for the end of the actions of intimidation and violence, so that there can be trust, transparency and fairness throughout the process.
Meanwhile, on Friday José Marcos Barrica gathered with the ambassadors that integrate the Troika of Observers to Zimbabwe.
Angola is part of the observation mission with 25 observers, four of whom are women.
Currently SADC has 200 observers in Zimbabwe, spread throughout the country, while awaiting for another 150 to arrive at any time.

This article is misinformative.I quote the forth paragraph;
"In the message, President José Eduardo dos Santos suggests to the outgoing Zimbabwean President to observe the spirit of tolerance,..."
If Mugabe was "the outgoing President" then we would not be having this crisis in Zimbabwe. Mugabe is not 'the outgoing President'. In fact he is seeking another 5 year term (his sixth) and therein lies part of the problem.
How the author who seem to use an authoritative tone on the matter makes such a 'mistake' is buffling. However this is not the worst article on the subject of Zimbabwe. There have been some articles wildly claiming to offer wild solutions the crisis. While every jerk and Jill has the right to air thier points of view, and easily so in the internet age, its your duty to check the facts before you put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard).
Such a minor error, why waste your time. The author clearly addresses Mugabe as President in the first paragraph. Certainly is buffling though. haha.
WHY ARE THE AFRICAN LEADERS SO 2 FACED ESPECIALLY THE SADC ONES, BECAUSE THEY NEED THERE FRIENDS AROUND THEM. ALL SADC LEADERS HAVE BEEN DANCING TO MUGABE'S TUNE AND THEY DO NOT SEEM TO BE GETTING TIRED ABOUT THE SAME SONG. THE MESSAGE IS NOT GONNA DO MUCH, JUST PETTY TALK. WE HEAR THE CHINESE VESSEL DOCKED IN ANGOLA AND THE AMMUNITION WAS SEND THROUGH THE GVT TO ZIM, NOW THE ANGOLAN PRESIDENT COMES OUT WITH THIS MESSAGE. COME MR DOS SANTOS WE KNOW YOUR TRICKS. SHAME ON YOU ON THE SHIPMENT
Can we talk about British mercenaries in Guinea undermining Africans governments? Can we talk about white businessmen funding their hand-picked puppet, Morgan Tzvaringai? Can we talk about how the BBC ignores the crushing poverty and political disenpowerment of blacks in Kenya because that government still toes the line for white interests in London? South Africans are worse off now than they were under apartheid, but the BBC never seems to launch an investigation into why white power has only increased. No mention of the bribes, the graft and the buying of puppet officials like Mbeki. South Africa and Kenya are not models of "reconciliation," which is obviously a code word for "let the whites keep the land and money they stole."
Kenya and South Africa are puupet-regimes led by white-financed stooges who do what their white masters tell them to. So even though South Africa and Kenya are no better off as Zimabbwe (THOUSANDS died during the recent Kenyan elections, less than a hundred have died in Zimbabwe, funny how the BBC has never commented on that fact) all we hear about is how evil Mugabe is supposed to be. Let's cut through the propaganda and tell the truth: the whites in Britain and the US hate Mubge because his land reclaimation project is exactly what the whites don't want to see--Africa taking back their land and stopping the theft the whites imposed. They feel humiliated that a strong black man is kicking them off the land they stole. for 300 years they've been used to getting their way while the people they subjugated could only watch. Now they're the ones being run over roughshod and they want sympathy? Don't dream, you losers!
The whites are trying to retake power through the back door.Using bribes and front-men like Tzvaringai. Somebody has to stop them. That's why mugabe is justified in using ANY means to ensure his country doesn't fall back under white slavery. If he declared the whites as resident aliens, and required them to register themselves and hand the title to their land and businesses over to africans (like Ethiopia did with it's Indian would-be ruling class) then he could solve a lot of Zimbabwe's problems overnight. Mugabe needs to simply stop with these half-measures, accept that the whites want an all-or-nothing fight and finish this. he's still reluctant, even at this late stage, to do what he knows must --and should have already!- be done; thrown the trash out! If he only summoned the nerve Mugabe could show the world that the chains of white domination could be thrown off completely and Zimbabwe could start moving forward as an example to all Africa of a free black state with no white control. Look at the Africans who commit violence against whites daily. The ethnic cleansing is going to start in less than ten years. Might as well do it now while there's still a chance some of the whites might make it out alive. If Mugabe waits it will be like Rwanda. All the airports, seaports and highways will be closed, the blacks will take up machetes and rifles...and anyone with white skin will be slain.
No we should not stop talking about all the current evils happening in Zimbabwe right as we speak and right in front of our eyes!! Why should we be apologists of a regime that has run amock? Was Mugabe not sponsored by white businessmen for years? How did he amass his wealth? This is a debate in futility!! So let us leave it to rest and focus on what really matters. Sponsorship or lack of it does not remove basic responsibilities to the population of Zimbabwe regardless of them having divergent views. So NO we should notremove focus on the debate of the moment. We should be discussing solutions to heal and rebuild the nation of Zimbabwe. Everyone else's real or perceived flaws will not bail out Mugabe. He has erred the most and that is why all responsible people should focus on his actions and solutions that are needed to remove Zimbabwe from the pit!!!
